For AKIN osteotomies
Varisation staples are used in the treatment of osteotomies without shortening.
After surgical treatment of hallux valgus, a residual valgus, external rotation, or lateral bow may persist. These are corrected by a first-phalanx osteotomy, which is fixed using a varisation staple.
